Your hair has an identity.

Whether you’re dealing with curls, coils, locs, waves, thinning, balding, scalp issues, SMP, transplant research, or restoration goals — Hairfyx helps you stop guessing and start your journey with direction.

What are you building?

Hairfyx gives professionals and product sellers their own digital shop while keeping the main user journey calm and personal.

Build my service shop For stylists, barbers, SMP artists, transplant pros, and hair professionals.
Build my product shop For vendors, brands, salon retail, distributors, and product sellers.
Hair Identity Discovery

Your hair has an identity.

Most people spend years guessing with their hair — random products, random tutorials, random advice. Hairfyx starts by helping you understand what your hair is showing you.

Whether you have curls, coils, locs, waves, a fade, thinning, balding, scalp issues, or restoration goals — your journey deserves a clear starting point. We’ll guide you without making you feel behind.

Right now, what feels closest to your journey?

This is not about boxing you in. It helps Hairfyx understand what kind of support should meet you first.

I want healthier hair Less breakage, better moisture, stronger routine.
I’m trying to grow or repair my hair Length, thickness, damaged areas, or bounce-back.
I’m dealing with thinning or balding Hairline, crown, patches, shedding, or confidence concerns.
I want styles that actually fit me Looks that match your hair, face, lifestyle, and budget.
I’m trying to understand my hair better I don’t know my type, pattern, porosity, or needs yet.
Pick what feels true. Hairfyx will explain what it may mean.
Layer 1: Current Hair State

What is your hair situation right now?

This is where Hairfyx stops forcing everybody into the same chart. Pick the one that best describes your current state today.

Loose natural hair Curls, coils, waves, straight, afro, wash-and-go, twist-out, fro, etc.
Locs Starter locs, mature locs, freeform, microlocs, wicks, reattached locs.
Relaxed / chemically treated Relaxer, texturizer, color, bleach, heat-trained, or transitioning.
Shaved / bald right now Clean shave, low cut, bald by choice, or bald from hair loss.
Thinning / restoration journey Hairline, crown, diffuse thinning, edges, patches, SMP, transplant research.
SMP / hair transplant journey Considering, booked, healing, maintaining, or comparing options.
Choose only one current state. Your texture comes next, so nothing conflicts.
Layer 2: Full 1A–4C Texture Breakdown

What pattern shows up on most of your head?

This is where we slow it down. Instead of forcing you into a broad bucket like “curly” or “coily,” pick the pattern that best matches the majority of your hair before heat styling, heavy product, wigs, braids, loc styling, or protective styling.

Your answer here is your main texture identity — not your whole story. Most people have more than one pattern. Your hair map comes next and will hone in on the areas that are different — like tighter crown, weaker edges, softer nape, thinning hairline, or a donor area for transplant/SMP planning.
Type 1 = Straight Type 2 = Wavy Type 3 = Curly Type 4 = Coily / Kinky
1A Pin-straight + fine No visible wave, very flat or silky, usually hard to hold curls.
FineStraightLow volume
1B Straight with body Still straight, but has more body/fullness than 1A and may hold shape slightly better.
StraightMedium bodySoft volume
1C Straight + coarse/thick Mostly straight with thicker strands, more fullness, and sometimes a slight bend or frizz.
StraightCoarserFuller
2A Loose soft wave A gentle, stretched S-wave that sits close to the head and can look almost straight in some areas.
Loose SLight waveSoft hold
2B Defined S-wave More visible S-shape, often starts around mid-length, with more frizz and shape than 2A.
Defined SFrizz proneMedium wave
2C Strong wave / almost curl Thicker, stronger waves that may start near the roots and can bend toward loose curls.
Strong SThicker waveHigh frizz
3A Large loose curls Big looped curls or spirals, often shiny and bouncy, with a larger curl circumference.
Loose spiralBig curlBounce
3B Springy ringlets Tighter, springy curls with more volume and definition, often about marker-size curls.
RingletsSpringyVolume
3C Tight corkscrews Dense corkscrew curls, tighter and more packed than 3B, often lots of volume and shrinkage.
CorkscrewDense curlShrinkage
4A Defined coils Tight, visible S-shaped or O-shaped coils with clear definition when moisturized.
Defined coilS/O coilShrinkage
4B Z-pattern coils Tighter bends with less round curl definition, often fluffy, cottony, or zig-zag shaped.

4C Tightest compact coils Very tight coils with little visible pattern from far away, major shrinkage, and dense fullness.

Guided IDPhoto helpMap next
Pick what best represents the majority of your head. If your edges, crown, nape, sides, or donor area are different, do not force them into this answer — the next hair map step captures those differences visually.
Choose the closest match. Hairfyx will use this as your main texture layer, then your zone map will personalize the rest.
Layer 3: Zone Map

Your hair may not be the same everywhere.

Choose what you remember or notice in each area. This helps loc users, natural hair users, barbers, SMP artists, transplant teams, and stylists understand the real map.

Mixed textures and changing density are normal.Your crown can be tighter, your edges finer, your nape softer, and thinning can show in only one area. That is not confusion — that is useful identity data.

👑 Front / hairline

Edges, temples, bangs, hairline, or front section.

⭕ Crown / top

The area that often shrinks, tangles, thins, or dries differently.

↔️ Sides

Left and right side texture, fade area, or side growth pattern.

〰️ Nape / back

The back neckline, kitchen area, or lower section.

🧬 Donor / back-sides

Important for transplant research and SMP blending.

🧔 Beard / facial hair

Optional, useful for barbers, SMP, beard care, or donor matching.

Choose any areas you know. Hairfyx will use this as your first texture and density map.
This is how Hairfyx avoids giving everybody the same generic advice.
Loc Layer

Are locs part of your journey?

Locs are not just a style. They have stages, maintenance needs, scalp needs, and identity. Pick what fits — or skip it cleanly.

Starter locs Beginning, coils, twists, comb coils, or early install.
Budding / teenage locs Frizz, swelling, budding, shape changes.
Mature locs Established locs, length, maintenance, style variety.
Freeform / semi-freeform Less manipulation, natural separation, organic shape.
Microlocs / sisterlock-style Small locs, grid care, detailed maintenance.
Not a loc journey Skip loc-specific recommendations.
This prevents locs from conflicting with 1A–4C. Locs are a journey layer.
Restoration Layer

Is restoration, SMP, or transplant research part of your story?

No shame. This is where Hairfyx becomes calm and useful — helping you understand options before you spend money.

Trying to prevent more loss Early thinning, shedding, hairline concern, family history.
Researching SMP Scalp micropigmentation, hairline illusion, density fill.
Researching hair transplant FUE/FUT questions, donor area, clinic research.
Post-transplant / healing Already had a procedure or preparing for recovery.
Embracing shaved / bald look Clean scalp, low cut, bald confidence, barber care.
Not part of my journey Skip restoration-specific recommendations.
This keeps restoration education separate from hair type so recommendations stay clean.
Pattern Layer

If hair loss is part of your story, which visual feels closest?

This part should feel like relief, not embarrassment. You are not diagnosing yourself — you are learning the language for what you’ve been seeing in the mirror.

What is the Norwood scale?Norwood is a common visual language for recession, temples, crown loss, and top-of-head balding. Hairfyx uses it to help people compare patterns before they talk to a barber, SMP artist, transplant clinic, trichologist, or dermatologist.
Norwood 1Full or almost full hairline. A baseline point, not a panic point.
Norwood 2Small temple recession or mature hairline starting to show.
Norwood 3Deeper temples or a clearly changed front hairline.
Norwood 4Visible front recession with crown thinning starting or present.
Norwood 5Hairline and crown loss are more connected with more scalp showing.
Norwood 6Most of the top is thin or bald while the sides/back may remain.
What is the Ludwig scale?Ludwig is a common visual language for diffuse thinning, usually through the part line and top density. It helps describe thinning that may not look like a receding hairline.
Ludwig IEarly widening part or light density change.
Ludwig IIModerate thinning through the top or part line.
Ludwig IIIAdvanced top density loss with more scalp visibility.
Traction / edgesEdges, temples, or nape thinning from tension or repeated pulling.
Patchy / suddenSpots, rapid shedding, uneven loss, or sudden changes.
?
Not sure yetI need help comparing what I see.
Pick the closest visual, not the perfect one. Hairfyx will use this to guide education, not diagnose you.
Loss + Restoration Map

Touch the story area: where has your hair changed the most?

This is where Hairfyx turns “my hair is changing” into a real map. That map matters for SMP, transplants, barber styling, trichology, and emotional clarity.

hairline
mid-scalp
crown
side
side
donor / blend
nape

Your head has zones — not just “good hair” or “bad hair.”

Hairline, temples, crown, mid-scalp, part line, edges, nape, and donor area can all tell a different story. Hairfyx should understand each area before it recommends anything.

For SMP: this helps blend hairline, density, and donor areas. For transplants: this helps discuss donor limits and pattern planning. For natural/loc/protective styles: this helps reduce tension and protect fragile areas.

↘️ Hairline / temples

Front corners, recession, shape, or edge loss.

⭕ Crown / vertex

Top-back circle, thinning spot, or scalp visibility.

⬆️ Mid-scalp / top

Top bridge between hairline and crown.

〽️ Part line / diffuse

Wider part, overall thinning, or density changes.

🧷 Edges / nape

Tension areas from braids, wigs, ponytails, locs, friction, or tight styles.

🧬 Donor / back-sides

Back and sides used for transplant planning or SMP blending.

Choose any areas you know. Hairfyx will use this as your first loss/restoration map.
This helps people explain their hair story before they buy products, book SMP, or talk to a transplant clinic.
Life Change Layer

Did your hair change after something changed in your life?

Hair changes can feel personal, scary, and confusing. Hairfyx should ask with care because sometimes the story is not just products — it is stress, hormones, health, medication, lifestyle, or a season you survived.

After having a child / postpartum Shedding, edges, part line, density, or texture change after pregnancy or birth.
After stress, grief, divorce, or trauma Life got heavy and your hair changed with it.
After a health change or illness Surgery, sickness, thyroid concerns, anemia concerns, autoimmune concerns, or recovery.
After medication, birth control, or treatment changes A new prescription, stopping one, chemo/radiation history, or hormone-related shift.
After weight, diet, sleep, or workout changes Big body/lifestyle shift, low sleep, heavy sweating, or nutrition change.
After braids, wigs, ponytails, loc tension, or tight styles Edges, temples, nape, soreness, bumps, or breakage after styles.
After color, bleach, relaxer, heat, or chemical services Texture changed, breakage started, or curls/coils stopped behaving the same.
No clear moment — it changed slowly I just looked up one day and it felt different.
Not sure yet I need help connecting the dots.
Hairfyx should never make medical claims here. This layer is for timeline awareness, emotional safety, and knowing when a licensed dermatologist, physician, trichologist, or qualified professional may need to be involved.
This question gives the user dignity: your hair did not “fail” — something may have changed around it.

What kind of routine fits your real life?

The best routine is the one you can actually keep. Hairfyx should not recommend a lifestyle you won’t live.

I need low maintenance
I can do a moderate routine
I enjoy taking time with my hair
I work out / sweat often
I wear protective styles often
I don’t protect my hair at night
Your lifestyle is part of your hair identity.

What would make you feel like your hair journey is finally working?

This is the emotional anchor. Hairfyx should guide you toward the result that actually matters to you.

More growth / length retention
Healthier hair
More confidence
Restoration clarity
Styles that fit me
Understanding my hair
This tells Hairfyx what success should feel like for you.
